So I know its been a while since I posted and I wish I had some totally exciting thing to blog about, but I don't. So I just figured I would write a little something since it's been a while. We're still living in Beeville living up the whole college experience. Its been fun getting to know new friends and we really enjoy going out with the missionaries to visit with some young families. We have an eventful couple weeks comin up with finals and branch parties. The branch comes up with any excuse to get together. But its good cause the food is always yummy. We had the chance to go home for Thanksgiving and we had a blast!! There is nothin like goin home for the holidays. We went hiking and it was Phil's first experience to the wind caves and he really enjoyed it. It was so relaxing just hanging out with the fam. I wish I would have brought my camera but you'll just have to take my word for it. We come home Dec. 17ish til the middle of Jan. for winter break and I can't wait!!! Its times like these I really hope Phil gets into dental school in Arizona so I can see my family and buddies all the time!

Tagged

So I can't believe how good I've been at blogging lately I hope I can keep this up. Alexis tagged me to do this thing and I hope Phil doesn't get embarrassed or anything... Oh well.

1. Where did you meet your husband? In good 'ol Rexburg...Alexis and BJ were dating and we felt a little left out so we though we'd give it a try.
2. How long did you date before you married? If you count our engagement, then a little over a year. Our first kiss was the Sunday after Thanksgiving and then we got engaged a year later the day after Thanksgiving. Then married (barely) Feb 16 2008.
3. How long have you been married? 8 months
4. What does he do that surprises you? He lets me sleep real close to him except when I have my back to him and I have my butt up by his ribs.
5. What is his favorite feature? haha well I bet everyone thinks this of their husband, but he has the cutest butt. I hope our kids have that feature.
6. What is his favorite quality? He is the nicest guy. Whenever I want to talk crap about someone or something he never does (Which is exactly why I have 5 sisters)
7. Does he have a nickname for you?A friend of ours started calling me Smithers at Ricks, so thats what he calls me now. Yes in front of anyone...it sparks a lot of fun conversations.
8. What is his favorite food? He is in love with Chipotle anything spicy!
9. What is his favorite sport? College Football...he is currently watching the Missouri vs. Texas game.
10. When & where was your first kiss? It was Nov. 26, 2006, the night I got back from AZ, in a park right after he sang me a song on his guitar. hah hes so cute huh?
11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Probably seeing new movies and getting ice cream!
12. Do you have any children? Not yet but in a year or 2 for sure!
13. Does he have any hidden talents? He is really smart with computer stuff. If you have any questions about Apple, ask him!
14. How old is he? 25
15. Who said I love you first? He did! Im kinda a pansy
16. What is his favorite music? He loves Coldplay, OneRepublic, and unfortunately Mason Jennings.
17. What do you admire most about him? How compassionate he is, he cares so much about others. And he is always in the best mood, regardless if he has had a hard day at school. He makes me want to be a better person...and Im not just saying that to be cheesy.
18. What is his favorite color? Blue I think
19. Will he read this? Usually not, but since I told him Im doing it, ya he probably will.
20. Who do you tag? Shawneen and Dana

OH CANADA!

So this weekend we had the honor of participating in the infamous Canadian Thanksgiving with some girls in our ward and other couples. Not only did we participate we were asked to make the turkey! So Phil and I were kinda freaking out since we had so much pressure weighing in on us. I didn't want to be the American who ruined Canadian Thanksgiving. We worked as a team and got all the gizzerds out and Phil buttered it right up while I made aka added water to the stuffing. I was checking it like every hour and it was nerve racking because we didn't even have a thermometer to see if it was officially done. But 5 hours later we packed our turkey up and met our friends at their apartment. It was so funny, there was Canadian flags everywhere and everyone was wearing red and white. We all sat and said what we were thankful for. (I said I was thankful for Phil and Phil said he was thankful for college football but me first) It was so good with homemade rolls and pumpkin squares. The turkey turned out fabulous and everyone loved it! It was fun learning and cooking the turkey for the first time and it was great getting 2 Thanksgiving this year!

So my mom gave a good comment. For those who don't know who Camilla something is she is the girl off the scary babysitting movie "When A Stranger Calls". I did it to Phil but I didn't know who the guy he morphed into was and it didn't work very well but its pretty cool huh?

I did this thing where it shows me what celebrity I look like the most.

Fun Weekend

So last week was so much fun. Aimee came into town Tuesday night from San Antonio and it was so fun seeing and hanging out with her. I picked her up and on the way home I got pulled over by this freakin mean cop who was not messing around. And No I was not speeding, I'm definately going to fight this one. The first couple days were kinda slow unfortunately because I was in school but when Friday rolled around it was time to start having fun. On the drive there, I was super cautious about cops because I was scared. And guess what...I get pulled over for going over the line for like a second. I automatically started crying because I'm a baby and he had mercy on me. He actaully asked me if "I was always this emotional?" Awesome. He said that since my plates are from Arizona they pull people over for the stupidest things because of the drugs going through all the time. When we finally made it to San Antonio we went to this super nice outside mall that was right next to 6 Flags and we were able to see the roller coasters and stuff from the mall. It was so relaxing to just walk around and chat while not spending too much money...We came back kinda early and went to see Eagle Eye with Phil and unfortunately it broke so we had to see the Women :) poor Phil. On Saturday we slept in for a bit and headed off to Mustang Island right next to the Padre Islands. That was so much fun the water was perfect, except I didnt go that far out because I'm afraid of sharks and there was no one to protect me. I got a little burned while studying for a test on Monday but it was still way fun. We didn't get too lost on the way back and watched The Love Guru while eating homemade pizza when we got home. We dropped Aimee at the airport after church on Sunday and had a nice relaxing night watching Extreme Home Makeover. It was so fun to have company and are always open for whoever wants to come on out!

News on the Hurricane

Well for all of you who are wondering about the hurricane we made it through...barely! Im just kidding, there was absolutely no storm whatsoever to hit Beeville. We didn't get an ounce of rain but just a slight breeze Saturday and so far Sunday. All of the college students were freakin out and getting my hopes high that it was going to be an exciting weekend so I must say I am a little disappointed. But I guess its a good thing, I saw all the damage on the news in Houstan and we want to thank those who prayed for us to stay protected and safe during the weekend. We love and appreciate you!

Thursday, September 11, 2008

Sorry the video is dark looking I don't really know how to fix it. But we have really enjoyed living here so far, we're meeting some new friends and trying to be sociable (its just not the same without Beech and Alexis). We are getting ourselves ready for the upcoming hurricane, Ike. There have been lots of people going to San Antonio, but also lots of people that are staying and going to ride out the storm. We are a couple of those people. We just asked ourselves What would Bear Grylls from Man vs. Wild do? And came to the conclusion that he would stay so we are too. Its not suppose to be that bad here in Beeville just cause its going more north towards Houstan, but we'll see. We got a cooler with extra ice, our waterbottles ready and some flashlights with new batteries just in case the power goes out. We'll keep you guys posted and if the hurricane really messes things up, I'll post a before and after shot of the town. I hope you enjoy the videos, if I knew Phil was going to turn the video around at us I would have put some makeup on and made my face a little less greasy...love you

Hola

So my wife was being a "blog hog" and I wanted to add my two sense. First off, this is a great place to talk smack, shall we begin? USC on saturday is going to KILL ohio state suckeyes. I had to just get it out because michigan hasn't been able to do it for the last few years. Second, this hurricane in texas is causing me some serious grief. If the power goes out, the steaks in our freezer could go bad. Not good. And if the towers get blown over by 190 mph winds, I will not be able to witness Jim Trussells defeat. Other than that, good day to all.

Beeville Texas

So its been a while since my last post, as usual. Since I wrote last we had just moved from Albuturkey. It was so nice to hang out in Arizona for a little over a week. Its nice to see family every once and a while. After Arizona we made the trek to Beeville and 15 hours later we were in front of Imperial Apartments. I couldn't believe how flippin hot it is here. After spending a good half hour bringing boxes up to the second floor I realized I had thousands more sweat glands I never knew about. It was a little disgusting. But we have moved all our stuff in and it is looking a little more homey. It was also so nice that Dad was able to come and drive so far to bring us our stuff. We ordered a pizza and went and saw a Vin Diesel movie. It was great getting to hangout with him again til next time in November. Phil started school last week so he's basically a pro now, but for my last weekend before my school started we went to San Antonio on Labor Day aka Phil's birthday. San Antonio is so cool!! Of all the cities I've lived in since the 6 months Ive been married. Texas is by far the most interesting. In San Antonio we went to the mall and found Phil some shirts for school and then went to his favorite place for lunch (Chipotle) and then went to Phil's very first IMAX movie, which was a 3D mummy movie. While we waited for the movie we went along the river walk and found a kinda New Orleans restaurant. To finish off his birthday he watched football til he went to bed. We were going to go to the Padre Islands but decided we would go when he had friends to enjoy it with. Or any family that feels the urge to come visit us (hint hint; we have an air mattress if that doesn't entice you). But overall we like it here, our apartments aren't the ritziest but hey whatev! I also wont have any pictures posted for at least a week because I am currently typing this post in the Coastal Bend Library and we haven't chosen a provider to hook us up yet.

Not too much going on here.

I feel pretty bad that I am not as consistent in my posting as everyone else. I wish I could say it was because I'm so busy, but everyone knows I don't really do anything while I'm "at work". Just to prove my point I have finished 3 books and am on my 4th one all in a 2 week period. (Eclipse-to get ready for Breaking Dawn; Breaking Dawn because its the best series ever; P.S. I Love You because I was in the mood for a chick book; and Bone Garden because Shawneen recommended it and so far its good) Not too much has gone on our here in New Mexico especially since our buddies Alexis and Beech are gone. Phil has been studying this insurance book so he can get his license in Texas to make a few extra bucks while we're in school and I have been packing a little everyday getting my self excited to be finished here. Since we aren't going to be here for the weekend, Phil and I went to Tucano's in down town Albuquerque for my birthday because I absolutely love that place and then drove around town. As much as I complain about working, I do like moving to different cities and seeing all the cool sites and buildings. Not that I'm wishing I could stay here longer. We are both so excited to start school in a couple weeks in Texas and can't wait to visit in Arizona before going to Beeville.

So it has been a real long time since I have posted anything. And I feel bad because I feel like I'm neglecting my poor blog. We have since moved from Indianapolis and I was so happy to get out of there, it was just boring and humid. The drive was a little long, we stopped in Amarillo TX at this little motel that smelt kinda like Nana and Tata's old house and finished the drive on into New Mexico the next morning. I was kinda surprised we made such good time. So we are now in Albuturkey and it has been so fun. We've been here for a little over a week now and the weather is way nice. Phil hasn't quite gotten used to the monsoons. He called me one day while he was out selling and said he was drenched all the way down to his G's while having miniature snowballs (aka hail) hitting his head. Poor guy. We just barely got internet, but until we got it me and Alexis had just been sitting at our apartments watching movies all day. Which believe it or not got boring. And the only reason why I haven't started a book, mom, is because Breaking Dawn is coming out soon and I want to be ready for it. The area we live in is like a little oasis. We have everything in like a 5 mile radius from the mall, the movies, walmart, barnes and noble, chick-fil-a and much much more. And our ward is pretty nice too, Phil actually stays awake in Sunday school now. Sorry I don't have a video of our apartment yet, I just got internet so it will be just a bit later. We're excited to go to Texas, and even more excited to stop by Arizona for sure by the 23rd of Aug (Im trying to talk phil into leaving earlier). Oh and I have been wanting a puppy lately to take to Texas, I would prefer to have one of Chica's and Diego's because of that perfect round forehead of Dieg's but I'm easy to please. Well thats all I got to report. I'll try to be better at posting.

Monday, June 2, 2008

So here is the much anticipated video of our apartment. We have been living here in the great state of Indiana for about a month and it is a pretty interesting place. If you're wondering why there are two videos its because I haven't figured out how to put one video thats longer than a minute on this so I split it. Don't laugh at me. Everything's going good here, Phil's doing great at selling and makin us some green. We work Monday through Friday from about 3-9:30pm and Saturdays from 10am-6pm. So our lives here aren't so exciting. We usually just go out to eat or see a movie on our much treasured Saturday nights. I have to give a talk on Sunday on "How the Holy Ghost helps us become who Christ wants us to become." So if you have any stories or ideas I am totally willing to listen. Thats about it here for now. Im sorry for how dirty the apartment was, it looked a lot cleaner before I started filming. Enjoy.

Here are just a few pictures nothing really that exciting, but I did make a video of my apartment and it was too long to add. So tonight or probably tomorrow I'm going to make another one. The pictures are of Phil just waiting for correlation to start (the flash wasn't turned on so thats why its so dark...also because we never open our blinds) and the last two are of me and Alexis "working". Enjoy.

Just a few pictures...

On the job...

So I'm here sitting at my little table for work. The office officially started selling today and Alexis and I are office managers and I've got to be honest I'm a little bored. We don't really have anything to do until one of the guys get a sale, so I figured I would post a blog. We've been in Indianapolis for a week or so and its pretty cool, totally different than anything in Arizona or Idaho. Its really green and it rained a lot today, I guess the storms here are suppose to be pretty unpredictable. But everyone here is really nice, I've actually seen at least five people that I didn't exactly know their gender...so that's cool. I'm planning on posting a video of our apartment here soon, it's pretty exciting there are ants all over our kitchen and recently in our bathroom so we keep basically everything in our fridge to save it from being attacked. And to add to that, all of our furniture smells like smoke and Javan (he's African African) underneath us enjoys rap with a looooooooot of bass. He's great. Well I guess thats it. I'll try to post the video soon.

So here are some pictures, there not exactly in order but I think you can figure it out. The first few pictures are moving all our stuff out of our Rigby apartment. Phil got his mole removed and we all kinda miss it. After, we left for Arizona and I forgot to take pictures but we had a blast for a week. At the end of the week I flew back for a training meeting for my new job as a co-office manager (with Alexis) and Phil had to drive back to Utah all by his lonesome. When we met up in Utah we hung out for a couple hours and were back on the road to Rawlins, Wyoming. Which I might add is by far the worst place I have ever been. We stayed the night there is a little motel and drove the next day to Omaha. We spent the next day just hanging out with Dana and Marsh and the girls. (The picture shows how excited Hannah was) We got to see the dental school and the Mormon Trail Center. Then Tuesday the 22nd we drove to Peoria, Illinois to see the infamous Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood concert and oh man I was as giddy as mom would be at a Ricky Martin concert it was sooo awesome!!! Phil finally got his eyes opened to the talent that Keith has on his little guitar. The concert was absolutely amazing. Sorry some of the pictures are blurry, I was all over the place. Anyways, the concert got out at 12 and we started the drive with a few Monsters to Indianapolis. The drive went by very fast while watching 24 and with the time change again, we didn't get in till 5:00am. So heres a few pictures from everything. Hope you enjoy.

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Well I wish I had something so exciting to say, but I don't really. Were still in Rigby and we have two more weeks until we either go to Mesa for a week or so or straight to Indianapolis. It all depends on whether the office gets opened up early in Indiana or not...so pray that it doesn't so we can come home and visit for a bit. But other than that it's been pretty dull, I can't say I'm doing anything productive except reading about vampires and soon to be "bones in gardens". Our Easter was fun though we only went to sacrament because Phil was feeling a little plugged up...and not in his nose if you know what I mean. But we made a nice little piggy with some mashed potatoes and rolls and what not and had some friends over. So yes at least we're being social.

The cool video

I did it!! I posted my first video! Here's our apartment in Rigby, ID. Oh ya I got into Dental Hygiene School, so now all we have to do is get Phil registered to go to school near me.

Wedding

We finally did the cool married thing to do and got a blog. Phil originally made it, but I'm editing it a little bit. Just a little intro, we were married (barely) Feb. 16, 2008 in Arizona. We live in Rigby, ID right now while Phil goes to school and I sit on my butt at home. We plan on moving to Indianapolis, IN in a little over a month to sell security systems for the summer. Yes I'm going to get a job. I kinda feel like I'm just talking to Shawneen and Dana...anyways here are a few pictures from the wedding.
